General Motors Hour - This is Television (25 June 1960)
Included a discussion of television from critic John Moses, and another critic Frank Thring. Thring "it's obvious a show simply can't be done economically in Australia... we're going to be forced to buy old shows."
Bob Walker says Australian stations pay the same as American stations.
Thring says "critics' job is to improve the standard of theatre" Points out television been going overseas for years, Australia can study, but still making the same mistakes that they made 10-15 years ago.
Moses says people who say why aren't constructive are saying why aren't you favourable... They want to be told they're doing well... There have been some bad productions, particularly live drama productions.
Bob Walker says Sydney critics damn Melbourne productions.
Thring - I don't care if it comes from Warsaw if it's good it's good. Critics are so pleased to be able praise anything they will.
Moses produced 100-120 plays.
Thring there are twelve people who appear in every play. I'm sick of them. They're quite good I'm just bored with seeing them.

July 1974 report Morris going home to New Zealand along with Alan Martin. Morris was executive producer of TV entertainment. See here. He was 53 (were Martin and MOrris a couple?) Martin was head of current affairs at ABC.
