Premise
The story of the birth of Jesus. A group of witches decide to cast a spell to prevent the birth of Jesus.

Original production
Carl Orff is best known for Carmina Burana.
Apparently this was written for the Bavarian Broadcast Corporation in 1962.
Production
It was shot in Melbourne under the direction of Brian Faull.
Choreography was by Rex Reid. Paul Cleveland did the design.
That year the ABC also broadcast a ten minute TV play The Little Woodcarver written by Keith Smith, about a shepherd boy who lived in the Alps. And An Old Man and Christmas starring Lou Vernon.
Reception
The Canberra Times called it "a feast for the eyes".
