In a small European country, Judith, the daughter of the American ambassador, falls for the Igor, son of the Russia ambassador.

Original play
The play was by Peter Ustinov. It debuted in England in 1956 and on Broadway in 1957. It ran for 389 performances on Broadway.

It was turned into a 1961 film with Sandra Dee. This film would show on Australian TV in 1965.

Production
It was filmed in Melbourne. Noel Robinson did the adaptation and Patrick Barton directed.
Reception
The TV critic for the Sydney Morning Herald thought the production was similar to "a children's pantomime... however, a lot of it is lively and amusing enough to raise a smile."
The Canberra Times thought it was improved by cuts from the original play.
