*1956 Award - covers all the arts not just plays (awarded Jan 1957) - The Shifting Heart first, Second place was The Multi Coloured Umbrella - this piece says that was written by Martin Ashby. Other plays commended included Royal Tour by Oriel Grey, Swamp Creatures by Alan Seymour and A Kiss and a Promise by Ric Throssell. - announced Sept 1956

*April 1960 TV play prize - tie between Phil Mann's The Sgt from Lone Pine and J Warner's World Without End.  (Judges: Ray Menmuir

*1961 prize (awarded April 1962) - tie between Winds of Icy Country and The Tower

Aug 1962 announce a 1000 pound prize

*awarded May 1964 - Bandicoot on Burnt Ridge by Marian Dreyer, second prize was Tona-san by Hal Porter . Other entries worthy of being performed were The Express Goes Thundering By by Tina Bethell Geraldine by Ruth Park and D'arcy Niland, Man of Blood by Patricia Hooker, and A Walk in the Rain by Greg Bunbury.
