Production

It was one of two appearances Barry Creyton made for the show the others being All Fall Down.

Barry Creyton later recalled "I remember that one co-starred a friend of mine, Desmond Rolfe. A dear, funny man whom I’d worked with on stage. I enjoyed that. I got to play a scheming bank executive intent on robbing the bank vault and inadvertently being locked in it at the end. That was fun to do. By that time, we had tape. We still had to do it in one fell swoop, though."

It was the first play written by 40 year old Eddie Thomas a methods officer in the PMG. It was directed by Albie Thoms!

ABC records say it was filmed 7 May 1967.

Originally known as The Mills are Grinding.

Reception

The Canberra Times wrote the episode "had situation possibilities, but the plot itself...seemed contrived and rather maiden-auntish."

The SMH called it "too heavy for even Barry Creyton to lift."
