 An Australian Playhouse that was not shown. It's about the Vietnam War.

Plot

A male protesting the Vietnam War runs up the war memorial with a banner "Christ died for peace", falls off and is injured. While in hospital, his mother worries what she did wrong. His elder brother, a Korean War veteran and former football player, is upset and the desecration of a shrine. A female friend of the man is supportive. An army chaplain challenges the man's belief. A psychologist goes in to talk to him.

There's a dream sequence where the boy imagines being interrogated by the psychiatrist, and the chaplain with the mother looking on.

 Production

It was directed by Chris Muir.  It was filmed prior to December 1966 in Melbourne. It was written by someone called Michael Wright.

There was location work on film at a shrine. 

Thoughts on the play. Fascinating account of the Vietnam War protests. Incredibly patronising. Weird dream sequence. Why is it odd someone protests.
